Fourteen individuals were arrested in coordinated anti-ketum raids across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Penang under ‘Op Taring Mitra’. In Selangor and KL, 12 suspects were nabbed during raids on April 24 and May 6, with authorities seizing ketum products, processing equipment, and vehicles worth RM657,400. Separately in Penang, two 23-year-olds were caught with 85kg of ketum leaves and 1,500 packets of ketum water, sold at RM5 each. Investigations are ongoing under Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act 1952.
