In George Town, a 72-year-old retired dentist lost RM300,440 to a scam after being lured by a fake online job promising 15% returns via the “JEM Abundance Store (JBS)” app. The victim made 17 payments to 11 bank accounts between March and April before realizing there were no returns. A police report was filed, and investigations are ongoing under Section 420 for cheating.
