Malaysia and Indonesia have strengthened legal cooperation during a meeting in Jakarta between their respective law ministers, Azalina Othman Said and Supratman Andi Agtas. Discussions focused on enhancing regional legal certainty and establishing Asean as a dispute resolution hub, including strategies for international commercial arbitration and mediation, business law reform, online safety, and anti-corruption laws. Azalina invited Supratman to the Asean Law Forum 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. Both ministers emphasized deepening legal-justice cooperation for regional security and prosperity, promoting mediation and arbitration for commercial disputes. The Asean Law Forum 2025, supported by Malaysia and Asean, will be a platform for legal discussions. Indonesia is Malaysia's second-largest Asean trading partner.
