Malaysia remains committed to seeking justice for the victims of the MH17 tragedy, while handling the matter with diplomatic care, said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary, Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim. He noted the sensitive timing of an ICAO report implicating Russia, released just before Anwar’s Moscow visit. Anwar raised the issue directly with President Putin in a closed-door meeting, stressing that it should not be politicised. The Moscow leg of the visit also saw promising discussions on trade, tourism, and halal industry cooperation, with potential investments of up to RM10 billion and new Aeroflot flights to Kuala Lumpur soon launching.
