Tan Sen Yang, 33, who fatally stabbed a man during a 2019 Orchard Towers brawl, has lost his appeal against a murder conviction. He is serving life imprisonment and 12 strokes of the cane. The Court of Appeal dismissed his claim that he lacked intent, rejecting arguments of diminished responsibility and provocation. The attack, involving a curved-blade karambit knife, was captured on CCTV. While Tan was convicted of murder, charges against six others were downgraded.
