Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi praised the dedication of 28,211 staff members from the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, highlighting their vital role in uplifting rural communities, eradicating poverty, and improving lives in Sabah and Sarawak.

Speaking at the 2024 Excellent Service Award ceremony in Putrajaya, Zahid commended retirees and current employees alike, acknowledging their hard work and contribution. A total of 89 staff received the Excellent Service Award (APC), while one MARA employee earned the Premier Service Award (PPC). Seven retirees were also recognized.

Zahid emphasized the need for innovation and digital adaptation in public service and called on staff to maintain a culture of excellence while focusing on rural development goals.
