Over 106,000 youths have applied for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses since the intake process was centralised under UPTVET last month, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The number is expected to hit 150,000 by June, reflecting strong interest in TVET as a practical alternative for non-academically inclined youths. Zahid highlighted that achieving SKM Level 3 is equivalent to an SPM qualification, with the potential for a minimum salary of RM2,500, while higher SKM levels match diploma standards.
