Malaysia's campaign at the 2026 Badminton Asia Team Championships ended in disappointment as both the men's and women's squads were knocked out in the quarter-finals in Qingdao, China. Represented by a second-string lineup, the Malaysian men's team suffered a 0–3 defeat at the hands of a full-strength Japan side. Key matches saw Justin Hoh and Aidil Sholeh battle hard in three-game losses, but they were unable to overcome their higher-ranked Japanese opponents.

The women's squad faced a similar fate, falling 0–3 to South Korea, who eventually went on to win the championship title. The South Korean team, led by world number one An Se-young, dominated the final matches to claim their maiden Asia Team title. Despite the early exits, the tournament provided valuable exposure for Malaysia's developmental players as the senior stars focus on upcoming major events like the All-England.
