The match was a grueling affair that ended in a stalemate after extra time, but Freiburg's composure from the spot secured their progression. Meanwhile, in the AFC Champions League Elite, Sanfrecce Hiroshima defeated Johor Darul Ta’zim 2-1, while Vissel Kobe moved into the knockout stages with a 2-0 win over FC Seoul. 

Looking ahead, the UEFA Women's Champions League Round of 16 resumes tomorrow, with Arsenal traveling to face OH Leuven and Real Madrid taking on Paris FC. On the men's side, play-off rounds for the Champions League are set to begin next week, featuring high-profile matchups like Paris Saint-Germain vs. AS Monaco and Real Madrid vs. Benfica.
