The Dang Wangi district police have launched a manhunt for a group of individuals who performed highly dangerous stunts along Jalan Sultan Ismail near the popular Bukit Bintang shopping district. The incident, which went viral via online videos, featured a group of seven to eight individuals dressed in black lighting up flares on top of a moving Toyota Hilux pickup truck.
According to Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, the dangerous acts occurred at approximately 2:00 AM on Monday. The group was also seen brandishing a flag with the numbers "6.6" written on it, accompanied by two individuals riding electric scrambler motorcycles. Police warn that their reckless actions directly endangered local traders, tourists, and other road users in the high traffic area.
CCTV footage has been reviewed by authorities, but investigations are facing hurdles as the pickup truck involved did not display a visible vehicle registration number. The police have urged members of the public with any dashcam footage or information regarding the identity of the suspects to come forward immediately.
