SINGAPORE — YouTube Premium subscribers in Singapore are in for a pricier bill, with the platform quietly announcing a fee hike via email, news outlet CNA reported today.

The individual plan will climb from S$13.98 (RM45) to S$15.98 (RM51) a month, while the family plan – covering up to six users – rises from S$27.98 (RM89) to S$31.98 (RM102). 

YouTube says the increases are necessary to “continue delivering great service and features.”“We don’t make these decisions lightly, but this update will allow us to continue to improve Premium and support the creators and artists you watch on YouTube,” the company wrote to subscribers.

This marks the second price increase in roughly two years, after the previous hike bumped the individual plan from S$11.98 (RM38) to S$13.98 (RM45) to S$17.98 (RM57) to S$27.98 (RM89).

A YouTube Premium subscription in Singapore includes ad-free viewing, background play, offline downloads and full access to YouTube Music.

The platform currently counts over 125 million Premium subscribers worldwide.
